Comprehensive quality assurance

Excellent test standards for future technology

Quality assurance at PINK GmbH Vakuumtechnik is not only an indispensable part of our production process, but also the cornerstone for the long-term satisfaction of our customers and the outstanding performance of our customised systems, because quality has a colour.

Precise and reliable testing procedures for every component

Before our tailor-made systems and components are assembled and delivered by our team, all components undergo an extensive quality assurance process. We use several testing methods and measuring techniques to check and ensure the performance of our products.

Leak tests as permanent production control and final test

Due to the high vacuum technology requirements applying for PINK products, our quality assurance department has an experienced and certified team (in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9712, level 2) capable of reliably testing components for leaks up to the UHV and XHV range.

We therefore offer our customers a wide range of leak testing services and methods, from leak tests to the checking of pressurised systems (test pressure up to 300 bar) through to products that have to be tested under space flight conditions. We are able to reliably verify and document the results for our customers, even for the most difficult test criteria.

Leak tests

  • Leak test as measurement of increase in pressure
  • Leak test in water bath
  • Helium leak test
  • Leak tests in the UHV/XHV range
  • Bursting tests with high test pressure and different test media
  • Integral leak tests

Manual helium leak test on a vacuum component between two manufacturing steps: This test procedure works especially quickly and reliably even with the smallest of leaks, since the test gas helium can easily penetrate the vacuum and is reliably detected.

Qualification and improvement of vacuum properties

UHV analysis equipment

PINK has pump stands that can be baked out for optimising and qualifying vacuum properties. In combination with fan ovens, UHV or XHV chambers can be baked out up to 300 °C. This significantly improves desorption rates, especially at higher bake-out temperatures.

The possible vacuum technology qualifications include determining the final pressure, analysing the residual gas, measuring the desorption rate and a helium integral leak test.

State-of-the-art cleanroom with RGA chamber

Components for UHV and XHV equipment, such as those used in the semiconductor industry, in particle accelerators and space simulations, require special quality controls. For this purpose, PINK has developed a new ultra-high vacuum system integrated into the cleanroom. With the highly-sensitive quadrupole mass spectrometer or residual gas analyser (RGA), individual masses of 0 - 512 amu can be automatically measured and documented. Desorption rate measurements can also be carried out and analysed.

Baking out the chamber up to 110 °C achieves a base pressure of ≤ 5 x 10-9 mbar. On request, components can also be baked out under inert gas up to 110 °C. This additional cleaning step makes it possible to reduce the desorption rate of the components.

One special feature of this cleanroom is the integrated, jacket-heated UHV residual gas analysis chamber with dimensions of Ø 1.8 m x 2.7 m and a volume of 7.7 m3.
